Patent Bridle Range
The Bell Busk Patent range is a luxurious selection of superbly handcrafted bridles featuring traditionally manufactured, polished leather patents (no vinyl coating!) and breathtakingly beautiful Italian patterned patent leather .
Virtually all patent leather nowadays is made by applying a thin layer of vinyl to the outside of the leather. This prevents the leather beneath from soaking up treatments and makes the leather particularly susceptible to irrepairable scratching (although it is cheaper). Because of this, we decided that, from 2011 onwards we would no longer use laminated patents. Our patent leather is made the old fashioned way, by highly polishing the leather during manufacture, which produces a stunning finish, and means that you can feed and care for your leatherwork throughout it's life. As far as we are aware, we are the only company using 'proper' patent leather for saddlery, which is just another example of our determination to provide our customers with the best possible product.
